HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Despite the heavy rain, we hope you are excited to welcome the year 2022!

The year 2021 became a truly fulfilling year for us. We were able to hold small workshops and zoom seminars throughout the year. We want to thank each of you for participating in these activities. It was a great pleasure to have Chie, a raw food instructor, and Chiemi, a vegan kimchi-making expert to share their knowledge at our workshops. We received great feedback from the participants. Not only did they have fun, but also became more conscious about their health and environment through these classes. We are planning fun events this year too!

2021 Report from the Genki Ala Wai Project team

Ruining nature is what human beings have done, so it is possible for us to restore the ecosystem. Let's create a world where we all help one another and coexist with nature.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the dredging of the Ala Wai Canal, we were able to toss 1,000 Genki Balls with the collaboration of Project Manager, Mr. Ian's Aliamanu Intermediate, and the Ala Wai Elementary Schools students for April 22, 2021, Earth Day event and tossed additional Genki balls into the Jefferson Elementary school site.

We were very humbled to have excellent press coverage in the Star-Advertiser Earth Day event followed by Hawaiian Airlines inflight magazine Hana Hou! July-August 2021 issue.

We then completed our November 2021 toss of combined 2,500 Genki balls along the Ala Wai and Jefferson Elementary School sites. We want to thank the school administration, and teachers for their support to make this placed-based Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) project a fun event for the students.

On Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, the Girl Scouts troops 675 & 873 tossed 80 Genki balls into the Jefferson Elementary school site (one week after the brown water advisory) as part of their Community Service following their Storm drain activity. It is amazing how resilient mother nature is and the Ala Wai Canal was clear with schools of sardines returning to the area we tossed the Genki balls within one week of the severe brown water.

Thank you for always using EM products.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022!!!!

Sunday, January 9, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Location: EM HAWAII Store, Nalama Kukui Bldg, upstairs Ste 217A

Thanks to Yuko Tsukamoto, who lives on the Big Island of Hawaii, we will be holding an exhibition of the USAATO Natural-Organic Clothing & Cloths designed by Mr. Usaburo Sato.

I have received some USAATO tops as samples from Yuko a few weeks ago. I have been wearing them every day even when I go to bed. Anyway, they are so comfortable, and I feel great vibrations. The USAATO outfits are all handmade with organic ingredients. Under fair trade, the happy energy of textiles and designs envelops the body. Dyes are also the natural color of plants, so they are all very gentle and soothing colors. You may find a piece that you want to wear. Please come and feel the various designs. Some tops are already available at EM HAWAII store to try on and purchase. Please stop by.

Fusarium wilt of lettuce is caused by a fungus. It causes lettuce to wilt, turn yellow, develop tip burn, and die. Once introduced into a field, the fungus will probably remain indefinitely. At this time, the only effective control measure is to avoid planting in the infested fields for at least several years.
